Exchange with France

Every year, the students of 3rd and 4th ESO who are studying French do an exchange with the students of a school near Paris, Lagny-sur-Marne.
Last year, they came here in November and we went to their homes in May. There, we visited Lagny and a medieval village, where we saw an spectacle with eagles and other birds. We also visited Paris: the Tour Eiffel, the Moulin Rouge, Nôtre Dame, Montmartre, the Tulleries (where we ate)... We moved by the underground, and it was really crowded!
During the weekend, we went to Disneyland with the families. Last day, we went to Val-d'Europe, the largest shopping center of Europe!
This year, very few people from Lleida who do French wanted to do the exchange, so the French came but we didn't go there.

This year, we are going to Italy. We are going there by bus; we are going to visit the Toscana, Venice, Florencia... we are going to stay in Italy one week and we are going to return to Barcelona by ship. The first night, we'll at the bus and when we get up, we'll at Montecatini; we are going to spend the day in that village.
The second day we are going to Florence to see the most popular monuments and visit some museums.
The fourth day we are going to Venice and his channels, the gondolas and all the monuments.
Last day, we will return by ship; we will enjoy it a lot.

Metal Militia

Metal Militia is a Heavy/Thrash Metal  kind of music. This band  was born in Lleida, Catalunya, España, in the year 2011. The members of the band are Luis Bravo (singer and 1st guitar), Nacho Rincón (2nd guitar) Victor de Bas (3rd guitar), Lluís Surroca (bassist guitar) and Genís Balada (drums).
Their name is based on a song of Metallica Metal Militia to the 1st album Kill 'em All; and their music is based on Metallica, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Iron Maiden , Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath ... 
The first appearance will be in Maristes Montserrat 5th june of 2012. They will play a cover of Judas Priest, Breaking the law.
At this moment the band is recording the first CD, Metal Ammo. They have already write two songs for this album: Rest in Peace and Red Diamond, but only the letter.

MINECRAFT

Minecraft is a computer game building independence, of type "open world". It's created by Kristoffer Zetterstand on 17th May of 2009. The beta version was released 20th December of 2010.
The game is focused on creativity and building, all players build constructions out of textures cubes in a 3D world. Include three modes: survival, creative and hardcore.
The platforms for it was released are: iOS, Windows, Xbox 360, Android and for the Xperia Play mobile phone. The game was officially released at MineCon on November 18th, 2011. Minecraft was developed for about a week before its public release on May 17th, 2009, on the TIGSource forums, where it gained a considerable level of popularity. It has been continually updated and patched since then, and while it was still in alpha release, it generated several hundred thousand sales and received critical notice and acclaim from many reviewers.
We think this game is very addictive and you have to play this, it's incredible!

Maristes' Baskketball team

Hi reader, we are Xavi and Alex, we are players of Maristes' Basketball team.
We are going to explain our season.
Well, we started t5he trainings in summer, to be fit, the trainings were very hard, and we ran a lot in the river, with the sun...
The first match was vs Pardinyes, we beated them, we won to 100 points of difference.
The second was vs Cappont and  the third match, we played on Sunday at 7:00 pm, we went there and we won of 30 points of difference.
The 4th, the 5th, the 6th and the 7th we are going to go a tournament to take a place to play in Barcelona.
If we take this place we will play vs big teams.

We hope that we will win!

These populars parties are the most important in Madrid and Catalonia.

These elections, will be won by PP or PSOE, these parties are the

favourites of the spanish people.

Before these elections, PSOE won the canditature to the goverment.

And it was governing eight years in Spain.

Now, we jneed a good party to get out the crisis.

Article about music

Music is listened by teenagers, and other people. It is listen at all the world but it's not free at many countries. For example in Spain it's free. The artists most famous right now are Lady Gaga , Justin Bieber ,Katy Perry ,Pitbull ,etc. The reaggueton is the fashion of the music ,it's listened at many countries and it's danced for teenagers. The favourite music of Ruben is the rap/hip-hop. He likes the artists like Nach ,Sharif ,Rapsus'klei ,Chojín,etc. All they have releasted many cd's. The favourite music of Anna is pop and house. And her favourite artist is Justin Bieber ,Katy Perry ,Pitbull ,etc. That is the most commercial. They are the others artists and they are very goods ,but they're not so famous ,like Extreme ,Sum 41 ,Cream ,etc. Conclusion: we like music so much and we like dance it.

Teenagers and drugs.

Teenagers have a lot of facilities tot taste drugs. Because they have more possibilities to access them, in the disco, pubs, and in the dark streets. Their implications are very bad, because they kill part of the brain, and sometimes they make you feel bad.
Marihuana and hachís are the most common drugs to teenagers, because they're cheaper than the other illegal drugs. Tabacco and alcohol are legal drugs, but in others countries , like in Nepal, alcohol is illegal. Now, since 2010, yo can't smoke in bars. In Amsterdam, marihuana is legal and you can smoke that in bars, but not whit tabacco, or cigars, only marihuana. If you want to smoke marihuana whit tabacco, you have to go out of the bar. All the drugs are bad, and you hasn't to taste them.

Maristes Montserrat Lleida

Maristes Montserrat is a big school in Lleida, there are babies (0-1 year) to 18 years old. There are three buildings, 3 playgrounds and one sports center.
In Maristes Montserrat there are more than 1000 students and more than 50 teachers. The patron of the school is the mother of GOD to Montserrat, her day is 28th  of April make activities. The students of ESO and Batxillerat we always make a "gincana" of sports.
After when we finished the class, we made travel in a Spain room of Catalonia or Spain but this year we don't know we will make travel because we stay in a mundial economic crisis.
At school there are different extraescolars activities: music, theater, sports (basketball, football, aerobic) etc... Recently the director changed and that has provocated the change of many rules in the school.

Lleida.

Lleida is a very beautiful city you can come, and you can visit a lot of places: for example la Seu Vella, the Cathedral of Lleida , the town council, the sport center, la Llotja, the museum of History, the water park, the major street ...
If you want, you can stay two or three days in a hotel ( NH, Palau Reial, la Fonda...), and you can visit all the monuments, places and go shopping.
Another face of Lleida is the funny face, the cinemas ( Lauren, Alpicat ), the Decathlon ( a shop with all the sports), the Funatic ( you can rent films and a go to the cinema ), and many restaurants and cafeteries to eat something. The day or at night. There are many pubs and discos too, (Big Ben, Florida, River, Pacha, etc..) where the people goes at night to meet with other people and dance. Well, this is our city, LLeida, a very special city, and I recomand you to come to live a new experience .

Football

Football is a typical sport in a lot of countries. It's a physical contact sport. In all countries, the're a lot of divisions, the teams play in different divisions depending on their quality. The Spanish league is one of the most important leagues in Europe, other important leagues are Barclays Premier League, the Calcio... The most important competitions are:


- Clubs: Champions League and Europa League.
- Countries: World Cup and Euro cup.


The best selection actually is Spain (he won World Cup and Euro cup in the last editions).
The best club actually is FCBarcelona, but the second is Real Madrid.
The best players actually are Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Xavi Hernandez and Andrés Iniesta.
Our club of the city is U.E. Lleida, it hasn't a lot of followers, but it's nice to see football matches in live. The team is in 2nd Division B, and it's one of the best teams of the league.

Hospitalet- FCBarcelona

Tonight at nine o'clock there is the first match of the King Cup of Spain. It plays Hospitalet-FCBarcelona. Hospitalet is a team of second division and FCBarcelona is the best team of the world. In the qualifying there are two matches, the first match is at home of hospitalet and the second in Barcelona.
The stadium of Hospitalet is of artificial grass and the players have to change their boots. Hospitalet goes first in the second division because they won a lot of matches.
The coach of Hospitalet, Jaume Casañes, was a player of FCBarcelona an he is fifty three years old.
This match is the most interesting of the month for FCBarcelona, and they have to be concentrated.

CATALUNYA IS NOT SPAIN!

A lot of Catalan people think that Catalunya is not Spain. Probably Spanish people want the independence of our country , but however they don’t let us be it very often when you ask to a Spanish person how are the Catalan they will say that we are crazy for want the independence , because they think that without the Spanish economy we are going to fail. But this is not going to happen because we are the richest country inside Spain and that is why we don’t have the independence because thy think that if we don’t give any money to the rest of Spain the crisis will affect more than if we don’t give it. This is why that in Catalunya we do a lot of manifestations, and concentrations for let us listen and have it.We believe that someday we will be free, but it will cost a lot, we know we are not going to see it, but maybe our sons and daughters will.

2012 will be a good year. Catalunya will get independence from Spain.

The students of fourth of eso are going to visit Italy.

The predictions of the Maia’s culture won’t be true, and the world will continue.

Manchester United will go down, Lleida will go up and FCB will win all the cups.

The next summer will be very happy because we are going to visit Desert of Arizona , New York , Chicago and Las Vegas.

The big party of my village is going to be crazy , happy, funny and we will see a very good shows.

Next year will be the year the crisis is solved and the unemployment won’t exist.

The wars in Afganistan will finish, in the north of Africa the peace will reign , and the world will be a better place.

The Theatre

The Theatre LJ

In Lleida there is a very important school of theatre, it’s called L’Aula de Teatre de l’Escorxador.

It is located in a modernist building, a former municipal slaughterhouse,
refurbished by Lleida City Council and aimed at Performing Arts from October 98. The building houses the facilities of the nursery "The Clock". Association of Residents of the neighbor hood Slaughter house-Templars, Classroom Municipal Theatre, the Theatre and the Cafe
Teatre Municipal” Abattoir has 2 rooms for the display of stage productions. It highlights the mural in the lobby "Altarpiece of the slaughterhouse," work the artist Frederic Amat.

*The purpose of this municipal facility is:

Offering a season of Performing Arts for all public.

Hosted by the Performing Arts Show all dance and theater companies in town.

Encouraging the use of the rooms, through regulated transfer for the Fiscal, the cultural, companies, institutions, etc.. in order to be able to
develop theatrical activities and / or para-theatrical (conferences, seminars,...).

There are many countries in the world, nine of these speak English.
These countries are: United States, Canada, Westindies, South Africa, Australia, New Zeland, Pakistan, India, Irelanda and United Kingdom.
In United States people speak the American English, the difference is only in the proninciation, some vocabulary and grammar.
In Canada many people speak French.
Australia is the sixth biggest country in the world and the only country that occupies a whole continent.
Next to Australia are New Zeland. Many films was filmed here.
Pakistan has 150 milions of  habitants, the majory are muslims and islam is the official religion.
English is the oficial lenguage of the world, so we need study more for the day of tomorrow.

Hello,we are Enric and Ferran we will talk about the olympic games. Last games were celebrated in Pekin. chinese people were very happy and worried too ,because they haven't finished the installations. Sportsmen was trainning to have good mark and the to leave in a good place his country. In basketball, Spanish arrived at the final ,but they lost in front of America.

In football Argentina won and Buenos Aires was celebrating all the night. Next day Messi and company celebrated a party with all the town.

In gymnastic an tennis won Spanish sportman but the country who won more titles were.
America won a lot but in swiming there was a man who can swim very fast michael phelps.

Today we are going to talk about football. Football is a popular sport. It consists on putting the ball inside the goal. There are twenty-two players and one referee in the pitch.

Last day a famous team was looking for a new player, but they didn't find anybody, and when they thought that they weren't going to find anybody, a little child with a yellow shirt, blue jeans and a green hat appeared, he started to play  with a 
watermelon, the manager of that team was absolutly shocked, quickly he went to the little child to ask him an important question, he asked him if he wants to play with his team and the little child said yes.

A few weeks later, he was very famous and his poor family became the richest family of the city. This is the fantastic story of the little child and the journalists.

Global warming

Everybody knows that global warming is a big problem. But less people know that without it, live in earth word be really difficult.

Consequences of climate change

Without global warming, the temperature of the earth would be very low, but a excess of it produces the melting of the ice in the pole, climate changes (rains on dry places, Octobers are very warms…), there is acid rain, the sea level will increase, the animals migrate to other regions and the illnesses expand to cooler countries.

The cause of this increasement of the global warming is humans. Humans contaminate a lot. The cars, the industries… pollute the atmosphere a lot and, though the governments try to do something, it isn’t enough. We have to become aware that the world is changing in a bad way and we have to do something to stop that and save the only planet that we have for living.

Some of the things we can do are recycling, going with bike or on foot and no with car, to save water, plant trees, participate in campaigns for the environment, eat biologic products...

BASKETBALL:

My favourite sport is basketball, this sport consists in putting one ball inside one basket, you can do two pass but no more because if you do more two, the referee can award invalidation. I started to play basketball when I was seven years old. This sport is my favourite because is very interesting.

When I started playing this sport I played with my school, and the last two years I have been playing in Lleida team. At the moment, my favourite team is F.C Barcelona in the “Endesa” league. I do this hobby every day of the day of the week including Sunday and Saturday (match game).

My favourite Spanish player is “Ricky Rubio” because is young and is a very great player.

SPORTS TECHNOLOGY

Advances in technology have crested new opportunities in sport research. It is now possible to analyze aspects of sports that were previously out of reach of our comprehension. Techniques such is motion capture and computer simulations have increased knowledge about the actions of athletes and how these  can be improved. Today, there have been a series of investigations in wind tunnels in order to improve posture on the biker thus achieving a perfect aerodynamic where the wind resistance os low is possible. There are also sensors on the football goal to detect and a goal marked ar not. In the moments this technology doesn't practice.

The problem occurred in Las Ventas when they wear looking a bull fighter, the UFO transporting the bull and de people to his planet and the NASA go to this planet to save the humans in there with a rocket the aliens don’t want to return the people but the humans fight for them.

In the war the aliens kill people and people kill aliens at the final of the war people win and return everibody to her house and it is fantastic.

Succesion War

In 1700, the Spanish King Carles II died without sons. He appointed the French prince Felip of Borbo to become the new King of Spain.

A lot of countries didn’t want Felip like the Spanish King because it would be a strengthen of the borbons dynasty in Europe.

They put against Felip, Carles of Austria. With this event started the Succession War. Castella supported Felip but Catalonia supported Carles of Austria because they were frightened that Carles could take out their institutions.

The War in Spain was favourable to the Felip warriors, but when Britain and Holand firmed the Utrecht treat in 1713 the foreign support went out and Catalonia became alone.

Barcelona fought against 40000 warriors with 6000 warriors managed  by Rafael Casanova and Atoni Villarroel.

Finally the September 11^th of 1714 Barcelona was defeated.

Linkin Park in Live!

Linkin Park is doing a Spanish Tour. In July 6th of 2012.

In their concerts they will play all the discography. First they will come to '' La Coruña'', after to '' Bilbao'', then they will go to '' Barcelona'' and finally they will visit '' Madrid''.

Now we will explain to you a little bit of their history!

They are a Californian band formed by: Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Phoenix and Joe Hahn in 1996. Their album debut is '' Hybrid Theory'' and it's the Best Seller album debut of the Decade with more than 25 million copies sold. ATHLETIC LOSES FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE TIME

Gorka can't made nothing with the kick of Cazorla.

After two consecutive defeats,  the Athletic Club of Bilbao played yesterday in the Spanish city of Málaga. The supporters of Málaga, filled the stadium of La Rosaleda, all dawn the match was in Wednesday. From the point of view of the Athletic Club supporters wasn't a good match because this team losed. The possesion of the ball was for the Basque team, but the local team knew as to took the oportunities to did a goal. The score of the blue and white team was in the minute 64, when Iturraspe made a foul to the forward Julio Bapista. This foul was very dangerous for the lions. Santi Cazorla, the international player of Málaga, kicked the ball, and this entered to the goal in the corner. After that, Athletic Club tried to reacted, but the time was over.

Serie A

We talk about the ‘serie A’ the league of Italy.

This tournament began in 1898.

During the course of a season, from August to May, each club plays each of the other teams twice; once at home and once away, totaling 38 games for each team by the end of the season.

The first four teams go to the Champions League for represent the country.

This league is one of the best of the world, but less than lfp (liga bbva).

The team that has more titles of ‘serie A‘  is Juventus, that is the team of Turin. But the team that has more Champions is Milan.

‘Serie A’ has a lot of teams that stay in the best Europe tournaments for examples Napoli, Roma, Milán, Juventus, Inter de Milán.

In the history the ‘serie A’ was the league that has the older players.

THE SCHOOL

My school is Maristes Montserrat of Lleida; there are a lot of students. In this school, the students are how 0 to 18 years (babysitting, primary school, secoundary school and “batxillerat”).

 In the school, there are a lot of subjects, some of this are compulsory: math, literature, gymnastics, English another languages, history, religion, and other subjects. There are subjects “optatives”: French, Latin, drawing, IT, biology, physic, music, chemist, etc.

In some of the subjects we have workshop of English, French, IT, biology, physic, technology, chemist, and others.

I like very much this school, because they have a lot of opportunities of learning very much and for the future.

Champions league.

Champions league is a competition among teams of Europe. 2011-2012 Champions league is very equal. We will only explain things about the groups where there are Spanish teams. There are four Spanish teams, that are
Futbol Club Barcelona, Real Madrid, Villa Real and València.

In the group of Barça there are: Milan, Bate Vorisov and Viktoria Zeple.

The group of Real Madrid is made up of Ajax, O. Lyon and Dinamo de Zagreb.

In the Valencia's group there are: Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen and Genk

And the last group, of Villa Real is made up of Bayern of Munich, Manchester City and Napoles.

All the Spanish groups have the security of passing except Villa Real, that has the group called "The group of death.

The holidays of our dreams

Everybody wants to do the holiday her dreams, but where is this place? The answer is United States. Stating for the big cities like New York, Las Vegas or San Francisco and finishing for the most desert place, “the Great Canyon” or the desert of Arizona

In the big cities like New York, you can go to the exclusive shops, go to the top of the highest buildings of the world and see the entire city. If you are active, this is your place.

But if you are searching relax you can go to the Great Canyon and see the spectacular views that nature offers to the people. But pay attention because in few seconds the river grows and you can die.

And if you want a great holidays but you don’t have enough money, there is the possibility to go to Barcelona or visit the plain of Lleida.

The English Corners

All Tuesdays, in the English subject, we go to the corners room. In this room there are eight corners. One of them is the writing corner, in that corner, we write a text of one-hundred words, and when we finish it, we write the text in PC.

Another corner is for example, the TV corner, in this corner we watch a film to improve our pronuntiation. 

In the listening corner, we listen to a song, and we translate it.

In the internet corner, we do some activities of grammar.

 Another corner, is the games corner, here we play instructive English games.

Finally, we have the speaking corner, in that corner we speak English all the time to make easier the English conversations. 

And this is our corner class!!!

The British tourism

In Britain there are a lot of touristy places, and in this article we are going to talk about them.
One of the most characteristic places of Britain is London, his capital. In that place there are a lot of monuments, like Big Ben, the London eye, London Bridge...
But Britain is not only London, other places are so interesting too, like Manchester, Stonehenge, Liverpool or Scotland.
Definetely, Britain is an interesitng place to visit, because Britain has hundreds of years of history, and we can see that in all the cities of Britain, from Ireland to Wales.

Football leagues

In this article we are going to talk about football in the old continent. The first league we're going to talk about the LFP, the Spanish league. The teams of this league are twenty: Real Madrid C.F, Villarreal C.F, Átletico de Madrid C.F, Valencia C.F, F.C. Barcelona, ... these teams are near the victory and Champions.
The second league we're going to talk about the Barclays Premier League. The teams of this league are twenty too: Manchester United (Red Devils), Arsenal C.F, Chealsea C.F, Liverpool F.C, West Ham United, Manchester City, Tottenham, ... We bet the Red Devils will win the league and the F.A. Cup.
We think that the Barclays Premier League is better than LFP because the level of the teams are higher than LFP teams. The teams money more distributed on Barclays, because on the LFP two teams earn 140 millions of €, and the others - 30 millions.

Trip to Denmark

Last summer, we went to Denmark with the school to play a football tournament.
We started the travel on July 22nd and we arrived on August 2nd. The trip was very tiring because we went by bus, and we arrived three days after. During the trip we visited Germany and France. In Denmark, we slept in a school, with other teams around the world. In the tournament, we won one match, but we lost other two. We had fun and it was a good experience for us. We finished the tournament because we lost the last match. So we visit the city of Hjorring. We bought a lot of presents for our families.
When we came back, we stopped in Disneyland Paris all the day. We never forget this summer.

Scouting

The Scout Movement starts in 1907. Baden Powell is the founder of this activity and the aims are:

• Supporting young people in their phisical and development mental.
• Teaching the kids and teenagers for the life values.
• Contributing to the society improvement.

In this school there is a group of scotus, "A.E.Garbí".

The branches are:

• "castors i llúdrigues" the kids who are 8 and 9 years old
• "llops i daines" the kids who are 10 and 11 years old.
• "ràngers i guies" the teenagers who are 12 and 13 years old.
• "pioners i caravel·les" the teenagers who are 14, 15 and 16 years old and the best.
• "ròvers" the persons from 17 years old.

In winter all the group go do a camps for four days. In Easter each each branch meets other branches from other scouts Maristes from Catalonia, and in the Summer we do camps for 15 years, but the "pioners i caravel·les" go hiking for 10 days and the remaingin 5 days make a raid.

The uprising in Egipht

One month ago, the egiptian town rised up against their president Hosni Mubarak. These people doesn't like his policy. All the shops and banks have been closed this month and the economy goes bankrupt.
The Mubarak's gouvernament has closed net pages like Facebook and Twitter to prevent mas agrupations.All the journalists are staying in one hotel in El Cairo, they are not allowed to make pictures and videos.
There is one example of assault, a sweden journalist recived an attack from egiptian people.
Hosni Mubarak has decided to give up his seat to the army forces.

BATXILLERAT

After the ESO, the students can go to the batxillerat and if they want, they can go to work. Another way is to do a formative module, first you have to do a medium module and after this the superior module, this way has less possibilities than the batxillerat.

Batxillerat is the next period after ESO. The students that want to do this way have to study for two years to get batxillerat. There are different A levels: The social A level, the technological A level, that has a lot of ways, like engineering, architecture… The scientific A level, that has different ways, like medicine, chemistry, to work in laboratories… The scientific-technologic that is a mixture of the scientific A level and the technological A level. The artistic A level, that you have to do if you want to be a painter, sculptor, designer… The humanistic A level, is for studing history, languages… And later, you can also be a teacher.



                           BATXILLERAT

Travel to Ibiza

Last summer we went to Ibiza with a group of friends. On 15th of July we went to Barcelona and we took the Ferry and started the journey to Ibiza. In the Ferry, Edgard puked. Next day we arrived to Ibiza and we accommodated in the youth hostel.
At afternoon we went to the beach where Ares build a sand castle. At night we went to the disco and we met two beautiful girls.
When we were getting home Edgar puked again on Joan's feet. Later, we got the bed and we slept all the morning.
A policeman woke us because he was knocking the door, Martí opened the door but he didn't see him because he was sleepy. The policeman came for a reason, he wanted to catch Edgard and keep him in prision.

The story ended sad, because we had to go back home without Edgard...
Nowadays, we still don't know anything about him, even if he's still alive or not.

F.C Barcelona

The F.C Barcelona is a team that was born in1899.
This team is from Barcelona, Catalonia, and his field is Camp Nou. It has the Mini estadi, that is a field for the players of Barça Athletic and for the younger players are the Gamper installations. These players live in the Masia.
The dynamic of the quarry was suggested by Johan Cruyff .
Of the Masia there are many players nowadays that play in the first team, like Xavi Hernàndez, Andrés Iniesta and Leo Messi, who recently won the FIFA WORLD PLAYER.

In 1992, F.C. Barcelona won the Champions, winning the Sampdoria with a goal of Ronald Koeman. The final was in London.
In 2006, it won the Championship winning the Arsenal with goals of Eto'o and Belletti. The final was in Paris.
In 2009, the club won the Champions League, winning Manchester United with goals of Eto'o and Messi. The final was in Roma.
